Trek routes - ANZAC Day 2012
2012 marks the 70th anniversary of
the Kokoda campaign.
Kokoda to Owers Corner - Elemental
Day 1
| Fly to Port Moresby, overnight stay at a four star Hotel Final Trek briefing.

Day 2
| Transfer to the Airport and fly to Kokoda, visit monuments and museums and trek to Isurava, camp overnight.
|
Day 3
| Participate in Anzac Day Dawn Service, trek to Alola village, camp overnight.
|
Day 4
| Trek from Alola Village, then to Eora Creek and then to Templeton's Crossing 2, camp overnight.
|
Day 5
| Trek from Templeton's Crossing 2, via Kokoda Gap, Moss Forest and then to Naduri Village, camp overnight.
|
Day 6
| Trek from Naduri Village to Efogi 1 Village, camp overnight.
|
Day 7
| Trek from Efogi 1, via Mission Ridge, Brigade Hill and on to Menari Village, camp overnight.
|
Day 8
| Trek from Menari Village, via the swamps and on to Nauro Village, camp overnight.
|
Day 9
| Trek from Nauro Village, via Ioribaiwa Ridge and Village, Dump 44 and on to Ua-Ula Creek, camp overnight.

Day 10
| Trek from Ua-Ula Creek, via the Golden Stairs, Goodwater and then cross the Goldie River and then on to Owers Corner, the end of the Track. Road trip to Port Moresby, visit Bomana War Cemetery, then on to your Hotel where you will stay overnight.

Day 11
| Transfer from your Hotel in Port Moresby International Terminal and fly home.

Battlefields - Owers Corner to Kokoda
Day 1
| Fly to Port Moresby, overnight stay at a four star Hotel, Final Trek briefing.

Day 2
| Leave Hotel and road trip to Owers Corner, stopping at Bomana War Cemetery and McDonalds Corner. Start on the Kokoda Track, cross the Goldie River and onto Goodwater, (old Dump 66), camp overnight.

Day 3
| Trek from Goodwater, via the Golden Stairs, Imita Ridge, Dump 44 and onto Ioribaiwa, camp overnight.

Day 4
| Trek from Ioribaiwa, via Ofi Creek, Maguli Range to Nauro Village, camp overnight.
|
Day 5
| Trek from Nauro Village, cross the Brown River, via the swamps and onto Menari, camp overnight.
|
Day 6
| Trek from Menari, via Brigade Hill, Efogi 1 & 2 and onto Naduri, camp overnight.
|
Day 7
| Trek from Naduri, via the Moss Forest, Kokoda Gap, Templeton 1 and onto Templeton 2, camp overnight.
|
Day 8
| Trek from Templeton Crossing 2, via Eora Creek Village, Alola Village and onto Isurava Battlefields, camp overnight and attend the Anzac Day Dawn Service.

Day 9
| Attend the Anzac Dawn Service, after breakfast trek from Isurava Battlefields, via Deniki and Hoi Villages and onto Kokoda. Your stay will be here tonight staying at Prisilla's Guest House.

Day 10
| After a hearty breakfast prepared by Priscilla we travel by road to Popondetta crossing many rivers and passing lots of villages on the way. When we reach Popondetta we visit the memorial park in town and then travel to Popondetta airport for our flight back to Port Moresby. Transfer to the hotel for an overnight stay. Drinks by the pool about 4.30pm and catch up with the group.
Note: Popondetta is subject to weather conditions and the alternate would be a flight out of Kokoda back to Port Moresby. |
Day 11
| Transfer from Hotel to Port Moresby Airport and fly home.
